A small quantity of marijuana had been found during a search of their belongings. This led to the capture of the two suspects. They travelled privately between the US and the Caymans.

Hadid, 28, was reportedly transporting medical marijuana that she had purchased in New York City with the help of a medical licence, according to a statement released by an associate of the model.

As per the statement, Hadid presented in court two days following her arrest and was charged with “the importation of controlled drugs and the importation of a drug utensil.”

Both women were released on bail after being imprisoned at Owen Roberts International Airport, according to the local publication Cayman Marl Road.

Hadid pleaded guilty and was fined CI $1,000 (approximately USD $1200). No convictions were documented.

Within a week of her arrest, Hadid posted several photographs to Instagram of herself having fun at the beach and in the ocean. She captioned the Tuesday image with the phrase, “All’s well that ends well.”
