Lizzo, a Singer, Has Been Accused of Sexual Harassment and Fat-Shaming

Three of pop star Lizzo former dancers are suing her, accusing her of creating a hostile work environment and engaging in sexual harassment.

The lawsuit includes claims of assault, illegal imprisonment, and fat-shaming in along with sexual, religious, racial, and sexual harassment and discrimination.

The former dancers filing the case are Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez.

Lizzo and the other accused have been approached for comment.

Allege the singer has yet to publicly respond to the allegations in the case, which is still being probed in court.

The lawsuit, filed on Tuesday in Los Angeles, claims that between 2021 and 2023, the dancers were “forced to endure sexually demeaning behavior” and “pressured into participating in disturbing sex shows.”

 

Among the allegations made against Lizzo, whose real name is Melissa Viviane Jefferson, are that she “pressured Ms Davis to touch the breasts” of the performer in an Amsterdam nightclub, and that Ms Davis eventually accepted “fearing it would harm her future on the team” if she didn’t.

Lizzo, who is known for celebrating her body and self-love, is also accused of weight-shaming Ms Davis on tour, as well as dance choreographer Tanisha Scott.

According to the complaint, Ms Davis claims the two questioned whether she was “struggling with something as she seemed less committed to her role on the dance cast.”

Although never explicitly stated, the questions “gave Ms. Davis the impression that she needed to explain her weight gain and disclose intimate personal details in order to keep her job,” according to the legal action.

In addition, it claims that the captain of the dance team, Shirlene Quigley, imposed her Christian beliefs on the performers and insulted those who engaged in premarital sex.

She is also accused of openly discussing and posting about the virginity of one of the former dancers on social media.

The management team of production company Big Grrrl Big Touring, Inc. has also been alleged of things like racism.

It claims that the black dancers on the team were “treated differently” than the other dancers.
