Surprise Inauguration is a “Thieves Meeting”, Belarus Opposition Said.


President Alexander Lukashenko took his oath during one of the unannounced inauguration ceremony. This ceremony occurred in Minsk on 23rd September 2020.
Firstly, Lukashenko is now President. Belarusian leader became President amid protest and global situation.
Certainly, the state press service released all images of the unannounced ceremony. President assumed office during this ceremony at Minsk’s Palace of Independence. In short! There was no prior notice of the event. Even local journalists and opposition activists got caught in a surprise.

On Wednesday, the US rejected the legitimacy of Lukashenko’s win. The US cannot consider Lukashenko as a legitimate leader.
August 9 elections were neither free nor fair. On the other hand, announced results did not convey legitimacy. Lukashenko declared as ‘landslide’ winner of the August voting.
Additionally, thousands of protesters believe that polls were rigged. Also, they took on the streets in a mass demonstration.
