Tori Kelly had collapsed over a Sunday dinner in Los Angeles. She is said to be undergoing treatment for critical blood clots, as reported by TMZ.
Doctors at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where Kelly was brought by her friends, detected blood clots in her lungs and legs.
According to TMZ, Kelly is “really serious” and “in and out of consciousness.” Her heart is being checked for clots by doctors.
PEOPLE’s request for comment from Kelly’s spokesperson was not immediately answered. The Grammy-winning singer became famous in 2010 after participating in American Idol’s ninth season.
In 2015, Kelly released her debut album, Unbreakable Smile, after contracting with Capitol Records and Scooter Braun as her manager. The 58th Grammys nominated her for Best New Artist.
In 2019, she won the Grammy for best gospel album for Hiding Place, and she won for best gospel performance/song for “Never Alone.”
Kelly has released her most recent first new music as a solo artist in almost three years, “Missin u.”
The singer-songwriter spoke to PEOPLE in March about the song and when her fans could see her on tour.
“I miss touring so much. She shared, “I was actually on a world tour when the COVID outbreak occurred, and it was heartbreaking to have to cancel it.”I have not been able to tour since then. That’s one of the exciting things I am looking forward to. I cannot disclose any details or anything yet, but I cannot wait to see fans again and belt out these songs with them.”
